That They Might Know Thee

“That They Might Know Thee”
Elder Schmitt teaches us that learning about the many names of Jesus can inspire us to become more like Him
Jesus has many different names. In personal study, thinks of some of his names and focuses to become more like him.
"Just as Jesus knows each of us by name, one way we can come to better know Jesus is by learning his many names.“
Jesus gave new names to some of His disciples, consistent with their mission. Christ's names help us learn more about his mission and character.
"Knowing his many names also inspires us to become more like him — to develop Christlike attributes that bring joy and purpose to our lives."
Names include good shepherd; high priest of good things to come; the same yesterday, today and forever; holy one of Israel; faithful and true.
These names can help us have hope and be cheerful, be consistent with habits and routines, and increase holiness attending the temple.
"Consistent gospel living helps us to be steadfast and immovable during the storms of life.”
